In our last house back in Tennessee we redid our master bedroom and it was a dream come true. There were so many projects within this large makeover and designing/styling the room is equally as exhilarating as painting and building for me.
We had room for a bench at the end of our bed in this house and decided to swap out that corner chair we just left clothes on, you know the unavoidable clothes chair that is never actually sat in. The Shore Bench was the perfect fit for our room, it added enough warmth and texture and was wide enough to fit perfectly at the end of our King sized bed. I added the Shore Bench Cushion in White to top with it’s a soft linen material. There’s 10 different color and pattern options and I love the tufted or straight upholstered options as well.
Styling a bed seems like an art these days, and it’s an art that I’ve been loving lately! This Costa Nova Pillow Cover 14″ x 40″ in Sand is the perfect neutral lumbar pillow that goes with just about every blanket we add to our bed. I love the detailed tassels on the corners of the pillow too, it paired really well with the Topanga Linen Throw in Ivory at the foot of our bed. It’s definitely more of a creamy beige than an ivory color in person and still works great for a king size bed!
A year and a half later we moved to Key West, FL and transformed our master bedroom for a very warm feel with lots of earthy textiles! Including the Beachcomber Cotton Throw in Fog which is more of a beige/grey and less of a blue/grey like I originally thought! It feels like the perfect throw for anywhere, whether it’s on the foot of the bed or hanging over your favorite lounge chair.
We bought a bungalow by the beach in Key West and we really wanted to bring in our Spanish roots with a bit of a beach bungalow feel so adding bits of rattan here and there with our earthy textiles was the perfect fit. We wanted a sconce over our nightstands that would have a shorter arm length with a warm rattan feature. The Flynn Single Wall Sconce in Wicker Shade is the perfect touch! We added a warm white bulb that really illuminates the wicker in the evening too. The Flynn Single Wall Sconce also has a white fabric shade option for a more formal and timeless look as well!
We originally got this Beach House Blanket in Ivory for all of our beach trips and I just fell in love with it and had to try it on the edge of the bed. It felt so cozy and fitting for fall and the upcoming holiday season.
There’s a perk to living in the southernmost part of the united states and that it’s always beach weather! We scooped up two teak beach chairs with backpack straps which are perfect for biking to the beach with the kids and a zip enclosure that holds all of my favorite things my kiddos want to toss in the sand.
We also grabbed the Beach Umbrella with fringe and it’s absolutely dreamy! Every time we pop it open on the beach it reminds me of a bohemian and exotic place even though we’re on the beaches of Key West. We use it in the sand but you can also use it in an umbrella stand for non beach use!
