Meet Kourtni Headshot

Welcome! I’m Kourtni, the girl behind House On Longwood Lane. I am 25 years old, born and raised a California girl and southern living in Tennessee. After my husband and I got married I moved to North Carolina. While trying to settle in and meet new people I found that I needed a hobby. As crafty as I am, I thought to myself, “Hey I’m crafty and love a challenge, I want to try a DIY Project!” After my first beginning wood working project I was sold. One of my biggest inspirations was another military wife I found on Pinterest. She showed me that power tools aren’t just for men. Since then, I have been sharing all my DIY Projects coupled with interior design with friends and family and felt the need to share some more with all of you!

My husband and I bought our first house in August of 2016. As soon as we put the offer on our house I decided I was going to take the plunge into blogging our house to home renovation and all the projects along the way, including my love of interior design (thanks mom).

Meet Kourtni Home Shot

Previously, we were renting a townhouse in the beautiful town of Southern Pines, North Carolina. As with all military families it was our time to move after just 2 ½ short years, to Tennessee. I went to college at The University of Memphis and my husband had lived in Tennessee when we met, so living in Tennessee wasn’t all that new of an adventure for us. However, turning a house into a home was. So we decided to share our home renovation process with all of you and just how easy and not so easy it is to DIY!
