Oh yes, I pulled the trigger and purchased some new bar stools for the kitchen. They took a couple months to get here, but they’re finally here! I’m smitten but also can’t believe we moved the old bar stools from Tennessee and are getting rid of them.

Hear me out, we loved the bar stools so much we moved with them and they’re the same ones that were in the moodboard design for the original kitchen design.

These bar stools are a great price point and faux leather so wiping them down after meals with kids makes life so much easier.

(See all the original Mood board sources here!)

After we installed the flooring and kitchen island wrap arounds it was evident the bar stools looked like 2000’s spray tan orange paired with the flooring. It wasn’t terrible, but it was enough for me to walk past and cringe.

We also designed the entire kitchen island around the bar stools which was unfortunate when the stools were such a tight fit. You really couldn’t get in and out while other adults were sitting side-by-side. Cody is a 6′ guy and this tight space wasn’t ideal for him.

One thing I learned when designing my first kitchen from the studs was that there are specific island sizes for how many bar stools can comfortably fit.I didn’t take into consideration the framing out of the island with the wrap around.

I took a leap and bought the bar stools, it was the right step. It’s like they were made for this space! Sometimes I worry about going with my gut when I design and not having any professional experience. After months of mulling it over and pulling the trigger I squealed like a child when I unboxed these.

  1. These look fantastic! I hope someday soon we can go back to how it was in the good ol days when it didn’t take months for things like this to arrive. Great post!
