We are moving, y’all! I know, I know. So many follow up questions: Where, Why, When, and what will happen next for us. As with every military family there comes a time to move to a new duty station which is called, “PCS-ing”. Which is what we’re about to embark on! We have lived in Tennessee since September 2016 and it has been the most magical 4 1/2 years of our lives living here!

There are so many moving parts still going on behind the scenes so we’re not quite able to share much more about where we’ll be moving to yet and what’s going to happen to our home other than we plan to sell it. Yes, we’re going to be selling our home that we’ve poured our heart and souls into. The house we brought our babies home to, where I decided to quit my day job to pursue my dream, where a business began and flourished, where a marriage grew and became stronger than ever, where our kids took their first steps, where many nights of SOLO parenting and wishing for different days. This house has become our home but a structure doesn’t define your home.

With being a military family it’s always inevitable to move, you’re going to move whether you want to or not. When Cody and I were dating my favorite verse from the Bible was Ruth 1:16, “But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.”

To which soon resonated with both of us when we found our wedding song, Home by Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros. “Home is whenever I’m with you.” This song and the meaning of home is much different for us than most.

We both know home is where our family is and as long as we’re together it will be home no matter where this new roof is we’ll live under. We’ve known for some time now that we’d be moving soon, but never knew the exact time frame. Cody was coming to an end for his time here in Tennessee and we’ve been looking at where the next possibility would be for us. He’s at the point in his career where his next path would be a big life change and new chapter for all of us.

As a military wife, I’ve come to learn that home is wherever I am with my family and I will forever go where his job takes us. We’re excited for this next chapter for our family and we can’t wait to bring you all along for all the incredible things to come.
