Home Depot project, Home Depot partner, Home Depot orange tank

Let’s talk about the Carolina Room Remodel, y’all! I first want to say, thank you so much to The Home Depot for choosing our project as the winner for The Orange Tank Project Competition! I’m so excited for the opportunity to share my dream project with you, our Carolina Room Remodel.

Carolina Room Remodel – Before

The best way to describe this space would be a brown bland box. There’s brown paneling on the ceiling, brown brick walls and floors including the brown trim on the windows!

This Carolina room has turned into a breeding ground for bachelor furniture and lot’s of miscellaneous items that haven’t yet found a home.

Carolina Room Remodel – The Design

We want to turn our drab Carolina room otherwise known as a “sunroom” into a bright and functional space for Liv and entertaining friends. This space is especially important to us as our family continues to grow. We need a space we can all grow into! We want to freshen up the space to create a modern boho style with white paint floor to ceiling, ceiling beams, built-in window benches and cubbies for toys, hand built coffee table, media cabinet, and toddler table, and bring lots of life to the space with potted and hanging plants.

Carolina Room Remodel – DIY Builds

There are quite a few projects I’ve got up my sleeve for this project! This will single handedly be one of the biggest DIY projects I have ever attempted. I’ve never built this much furniture for a single project before, which is so exciting! I plan on sharing all the plans for these DIY build’s for y’all too, don’t worry!

Carolina Room Remodel – Floor Plan

For all my visual friends, this is the layout we are going with for the space. The only major reno item happening in this room is removing the window into the master bathroom. Design wise, this window no longer made any sense since this room is now enclosed and no longer a back porch.

I can’t wait to bring this design to life and share the entire process with y’all! What do y’all think of the design?!

    1. Hi Cate,

You are so sweet, thank you! We just finished the Carolina Room, I hope you get a chance to check it out 🙂

  2. I love the way you lay out the images for your projects. It makes it easier to follow your design. The projects for this room seem like a great way to update it. Are you planning on painting it as well?

    1. Hi Brittany,
