Friday Five is back, y’all! We took a break for a hot minute right before Cash was born and now that I’ve eased back into our regular routine, we’re bringing Friday Five back. If you’re new around here this is a weekly series where 5 random things are shared every Friday. Everything goes from chatting about the best rugs, favorite power tools to parenthood!

The master bedroom is a slow makeover after having such a quick turnaround with the DIY Dry Bar at the beginning of the year. It’s not my nature to do projects slowly, but I think it might be good for my soul and mental health if I’m being honest! The paint is officially done and we went with Polar Bear by Behr in eggshell. Originally, we were going to go with Ultra Pure White by Behr – but it was literally STARK white. So I decided to go with the same color we went with in the master bathroom remodel. Polar Bear has a tiny bit of a yellow base so the color is not as stark, but it is still white. The trim and doors are still the same from when we moved in, Snowbound by Sherwin Williams in Semi-Gloss.

The rug is here and I ordered the night stands yesterday and they’ll be here next Wednesday! I can’t wait to do another “Buy to DIY”, who thinks that should be a thing? I see you raising your hands!! It’s happening.

We still have pick out a new ceiling fan to replace the one we’ve had in there since we moved in 3.5 years ago. Cody broke it as some point last year and it’s never been the same! These are some of the ceiling fans we’re looking at:

  • Cash is already 3.5 months old, well more like 4 months next week! He’s the second baby and it feels like it’s gone by even faster. There’s not a lot of time sitting around starring at his beautiful face these days and more like protecting his beautiful face from all the poking a prodding Liv has been dishing out.

  • Solo parenting has definitely been challenging since Cody deployed when he was about 1.5 months old. I think parenting a toddler and newborn is a whole different type of difficult. We’ve had a great deal of help from our family and friends that I am so grateful for!
  • I’ve scoured the internet to make sure that I chose the right nightstands for our master bedroom makeover. Y’all I literally went to every website I could think of to find a modern/vintage style nightstand and I’m almost positive it does not exist for what I have concocted in my head. To bad I don’t know how to turn my own table legs, or else I’d be DIYing my own nightstands!

Here are a few of my favorites:

    1. Metalwork Grand Nightstands (Set of 2), $638
    2. Sagueney Nightstand, $179 (currently 37% off)
    3. Denzel 1 Drawer Nightstand, $176.99 (currently 25% off)
    4. Marie 1 Drawer Nightstand, $253.99
    5. Hannah Left Nightstand, $390
    6. Rule Nightstand, $899
    7. Porto Nightstand, $159.99
    8. Warwick Narrow Accent Table, $99
    9. Loring 2-Drawer Nightstand, $229
    10. Cortez Charcoal Floating Nightstand, $599
    11. Keane Wenge Solid Wood Charging Nightstand, $499
    12. Harmon Metal Storage Nightstand, $899
    13. Harry Nightstand, $590
  • I’ve started shutting off the TV and my cell phone earlier in the evening and started picking up a book instead. Every year I have the same New Years resolution since the early 2000’s. I’ve got 5 books on my non-existent nightstand that I’m reading right now.

  • Liv has been digging her favorite bows from Well Worn Bows! Christie’s creates bows and hair ties out of recycled and repurposed fabrics making each and every bow/hair tie  unique and limited!

  • We just recently scooped up this adorable sit me up for Cash and the colors and pattern remind me of the 80’s! Looks like something I would have had as a little babe.
  • The knot headband that rocked my Instagram DM’s the yesterday. I don’t think I’ve ever received so many messages asking if I had died my hair blonde. No way friends! Did you know I’ve never died my hair before?!
  • So excited to share that I was a guest on the Maker Mom Podcast last week with Katie Freeman! We chat about being a mother and a maker and how life is working with kiddos. Check it out here!
  • Holy Cow, and we were published in a German Magazine!! Yes, shut the front door we are in print and I just about fell over when I saw my DIY geometric barn door in Couch Magazine their Special September DIY Issue.

Happy Friday Y’all!
