Our master bedroom has been one of the last things on our list to makeover. The master bedroom is like the “momma” of our house. Every other room in our house has gotten love and attention (kiddos, husband, pets) and now it’s time for some self-love for momma! How do like that analogy? 😆

Let’s start from the beginning, we’re going back 3.5 year to when we bought our home!

You can even see the weird door situation I’m always talking about in this angle! That’s the entrance to the bedroom and the entrance to the master bedroom.

No, it doesn’t look that bad. But you know it’s definitely not our style – big bulky furniture is a no-no for us!

Slowly the room started to reflect our style more after painting and putting in new carpet. Did you know that we refinished the ceilings in all of the bedrooms, closets, and bathrooms?! Yes, we are crazy. But we were and still are cheap. We mostly had the mantra; is the juice worth the squeeze? And it most definitely was.

We bought this ceiling sander and Cody refinished all the ceilings before we put furniture and new carpet in!

Painted everything before the new carpet so we didn’t have to be careful and use painters plastic and drop cloths.

I’ve always been one to curate a room rather than buy everything at one time and that’s exactly what we did with our master bedroom. It just never really quite felt like what I wanted. There was no escape to the master bedroom for me. It was more of closing the door and escaping from my master bedroom.

Master Bedroom Makeover Design Board

So, with that here’s the design that we’re planning on implementing into the master bedroom! I am loving the more curated style of vintage feels meets a modern traditionalist.

I’ve started honing in on my design style and I’ve loved the past couple projects I’ve done so hard. Like I Marie Kondo’d those projects, every aspect of the rooms brings me job – DIY Dry Bar, Office Makeover, DIY Console Table & Frames.

Some of my favorite designers are Amber Lewis of Amber Interiors, Julia Marcum of Chris Loves Julia, Jenny Komenda, and Studio McGee.

I mean look at these beautiful spaces that have inspired the whole master bedroom makeover.

A lot of you have voiced that you wanted to see room makeovers with a specified budget and that’s what we’re doing! I’m going to be sharing the cost of this entire makeover down to the penny including all of the sponsored items as well!
