We secrectly listed and sold our home behind the scenes and prepped since January for the initial sale of our home. We had no idea how hard the process would be, especially getting the house ready to sell while Cody was away training. Remeber all of my, “new year decluttering extravaganzas?” Well, that was me decluttered and removing all person artifacts from our home to stage to sell.

We went to a local hotel for the weekend and held a COVID friendly open house in March on a Saturday and Sunday. During that weekend Cash decided to flush my car keys down the toilet. Who knew my that would cost me $500 to replace, WOOF! We received 35 offers on our home and were completely blown away by the mere fact that we were able to sell our home 20% over asking to a cash buyer. If you aren’t currently looking to buy or sell you might not be aware the market is H-O-T, HOT! We closed in 4 weeks and are currently living in the house until we move in June, rent free.

I know, so many details that sound a little too good to be true! There were some stipulations we had upon buyers putting in an offer on the house. We let everyone know we had to stay in the house until June and we’d be happy to rent back from the buyer upon closing. Which in almost every offer submitted they were more than happy to let us do that. The ultimate offer than won us over was just too good to pass on. We don’t know much about them, just that they’re a family from the Seattle Area and we are so happy to have another family make some amazing memories in this home. This home that made us who we are today.

I got so emotional writing this blog post that I burst into tears. I realized this is no longer OUR home and it hit me like a ton of bricks. This home has meant so much to us, but we know its our time to move and we couldn’t be more proud of the love we poured into this house.

If a home can do anything more than be a place of shelter it was a place that molded us as a family and created a hobby that turned into a business. For those of you that wanted the listing and were interested in purchasing our home, I apologize for the missed opportunity. However, we felt it was better for our family to not share the listing for privacy reasons.

Don’t worry friends, we’ll share more about what’s to come next like WHERE we’re moving, what we’re bringing with us and if we’ve found a new home or not!

    1. Hi Soni,

We are really grateful that all of our hard work paid off with all the renovations we did in our home. It’s a bummer the market is like it is right now for those looking to buy, I know the pain of being the buyer. As we are currently on the hunt for a new home. It is sad for those families that can’t afford all cash offers, but the market won’t be like this forever.
