If you noticed back in the beginning of January I started our decluttering journey which in part was due to the fact that we were moving. I knew we had way too many thingsQ You know, when you open all your random drawers and closets and things just fall out? I wanted to avoid the stress and anxiety of decluttering and staging our home and give myself as much time as I needed. We’ve got quite a laundry list of things to do before we (List, Sell, Move), so we’ve been knocking things out room-by-room! 

Entire Home

  • Fill holes
  • Caulk
  • Touch up paint
  • Depersonalize home (family photos, family momento’s)
  • Fix broken vent registers 


  • Swap out front door handleset
  • Remove artwork above light switches
  • Repot planters on porch with new greenery
  • Move coat rack to garage entrance or breakfast nook
  • Patch coat rack holes

Home Office

  • Recaulk built-in corners
  • Declutter files, paperwork
  • Clean return/replace air filter

Dining Room

  • Wash ruggable and sell on FB Marketplace
  • Layout black vintage area rug from attic
  • Bring in giant mirror for above sideboard
  • Sell dish ware on FB Marketplace

coffee table / gallery frames / sofa 

Living Room

  • Remove family photo gallery wall or replace photos
  • Minimize throw pillows 
  • Reduce furniture to create a better traffic flow

Counter Stools / Open Shelving / Vase

Kitchen/Breakfast Nook

  • Replace faucet attachment (the button sticks and breaks often)
  • Clean Cabinets with soapy water and microfiber cloth
  • Paint touch ups on Cabinets
  • Tighten any loose cabinet doors and knobs
  • Glue caps on bar stool chairs
  • Declutter cabinets (donate/pack up)
  • Clean return and replace air filter
  • Replace wooden blinds for roman shade
  • Clean and repaint windows
  • Add chairs and table again
  • Declutter/Stage Open Shelving

Dry Bar

  • Clean Cabinets with soapy water and microfiber cloth
  • Paint touch ups on Cabinets
  • Caulk/Touch up paint vertical shiplap
  • Run electrical for sconces
  • Repaint inside of drybar cabinet
  • Sand and seal butcher block countertop
  • Declutter cabinets (donate/pack up)
  • Declutter/Stage Open Shelving

Laundry Room

  • Install tile/grout at door threshold
  • Add missing crown molding piece
  • Add another sheet of birch plywood to back of barn door
  • Stain back of barn door
  • Secure barn door with floor guide (ordered on amazon already)
  • Fit door handle
  • Adjust door stopper

Sunroom/Bonus Room

  • Clean returns
  • Repaint olive green trim 
  • Clean interior/exterior windows
  • Declutter Toys
  • Clean Fans
  • Add deadbolt

Master Bedroom

  • Add pocket door hardware to bathroom doors
  • Add vacuum port cover back on central vac system
  • Patch Drywall
  • Add carpet to entry way of closet threshold
  • Clean, declutter Cody’s closet (add trim and fix return area)
  • Clean Fan

Master Bathroom

  • Patch drywall
  • Fix open shelving
  • Clean grout/Tile
  • Attach baseboards between shower and vanity

Liv’s Bedroom

  • Paint barn door
  • Declutter Liv’s toys and neutralize her room to be more of a “guest or second bedroom”
  • Add Barn door handle and door lock
  • Adjust barn door stopper

Jack & Jill Bathroom

  • Deep clean grout
  • Silicone base of tub

Cash’s Bedroom

  • Closet Clean up and declutter
