The day is finally here! It’s time to reveal the laundry room remodel for the one room challenge and I couldn’t be more excited. This was our first time participating in the one room challenge and boy, was it a challenge!

Be sure to catch up on some of the previous updates on the Landry room remodel – here are the links.

BEFORE

Let’s take a little walk down memory lane and see what the laundry room looked like before we moved into our house in September 2016.

There was lots of linoleum and a good sized laundry room that wasn’t being used to it’s fullest potential. Since we moved in we had done a couple updates to the laundry room, but nothing ever felt “right.”

AFTER

Holy cow, but look what some cabinet rearranging and shelving can to do really maximize and turn the space into a bigger room.

We saved so much money by reusing our existing cabinets and stacking them on top of each other to elongate the room. They worked out perfect, we just had to trim about an inch off the very top cabinet to fit and, voila!

I’ve been on this modern take on barn doors kick and wanted to create another unique piece for our laundry room remodel that didn’t scream farmhouse. So I decided to think of it like a door with tiny slats and the vision just came to life! I’ve got a DIY tutorial coming soon for this guy. But in the mean time, you can check out the DIY Geometric Barn Door I recently made.

It’s almost like the slat barn door tied the laundry room together and let it flow into the rest of our house. My mother helped me hang the door and as we stepped back we both put our hands to our mouth. It was the perfect touch!

We received a custom made white oak butcher block countertop from a local Tennessee maker, Walnut Wood Works. Justin and Kathleen are amazing and have created one of a kind pieces. Adding in natural elements to this crisp white space made it cozy enough to flow with the rest of our home.

The laundry built-in was a DIY as well to help support the new countertop. You can find the DIY tutorial here for the countertop built-in!

We are actually using these canisters to store laundry items too! Functional decor has always been my jam so using kitchen canisters to store laundry pods, Oxy clean, and dryer sheets are perfect.

These beautiful matte black cabinet pulls from EMTEK Asa Abloy are perfect to break up the pure white cabinets.

This floating shelf was an experimental build and it turned out better than I thought it would. I didn’t want a traditional dowel for holding wet hanging clothes. So I drew up this piece and it worked out perfectly in the laundry room, you can find the tutorial here!

Our new dainty light fixture from Hudson Valley Lighting was the perfect addition to finishing off the space. The large lightbulb gives off such a great amount of light even with the small size of the fixture.

I can’t thank y’all for all the help, support and encouragement along he way for this entire project. WE did it and I couldn’t have finished the One Room Challenge without y’all!

And none of this would have been possible without my amazing sponsors! So, THANK YOU!

    1. Hi Corinna,

Thank you so much! We were definitely trying to save money where we could and stacking the cabinets was the best option 🙂
