We’ve been gearing up for some backyard hangouts and we really wanted to give our backyard an Easy Summer Patio Refresh. Winter is always a doozy here in Tennessee and so is the Spring with all the massive amounts of rain. Especially when you don’t take care of the stuff you’ve got in your backyard. I believe your backyard should be an extension of your home and in our case that just wasn’t true. That’s why our friends at Home Depot helped us create a beautiful living space for patio hangs and dinner’s on the patio like when I was kid.

How to: A Quick and Easy Summer Patio Refresh

Figure out Your Design

One of my favorite things to do is create a List through my homedepot.com Account and add everything I think would look great in the space to that list. I create lists and “add to favorites” using the heart icon on every product online, and name them like mini Pinterest boards within My Account. The cool part is, it keeps a running total at the bottom and you can just “add to cart” when you’re ready.

After I have everything I want to use in my design, I then create a mood board to see the whole space together! If you’re new to the blog this is crucial for me as I am such a visual person and so is my husband.

Prepping your Outdoor Patio Space for Summer

Once you’ve finalized your design and ordered your products from homedepot.com/decor it’s time to get your spaces ready! First things first – clean, clean, clean my friends! Remember all the furniture I built last year? Don’t worry it’s getting a new home in Phase 2 of our backyard remodel! We cleared all the furniture and toys off the patio and cleaned all the debris off to make room for some fun things we got in the mail from homedepot.com/decor. Also, the pine needles, holy cow. That’s from our crispy Christmas tree that we had in the house for way too long. Anyone else still have pine needles in their house?

We love taking some water to our back patio and window wall to clean up from all the crazy weather we have. But we also can’t forget to play in the puddles! Liv had such a blast helping get the back patio ready for our Summer Refresh.

Easily Refresh your Patio with New Plants and Planters

There are two types of people, the ones that can keep plants alive year round and then there are those who buy plants for the warm spring and summer months. I’m person A inside and person B outside. Good thing homedepot.com delivers plants because ya girl doesn’t have a big enough car for all the plants we got! We got a great assortment of shrubs and plants to help with mosquitos and wasps.

Some great plants we got:

Liv is at a great age where she likes to help out with everything, including planting all of our new plants. Be sure to check out my stories for all the behind the scenes on the project and to catch a glimpse of Liv and I planting all these guys!

Bring your Outdoor Living Space to Life

As things came in I started putting them together and got so giddy seeing my design come to life. I think the coolest thing is to see our mood board become a reality.

Everything took about 2 hours to assemble which is great!

Eek! Can we talk about this sectional? It’s in 3 pieces so you can take it apart if you feel like creating two sofas or just one! How cool is that? It’s also extremely light. I was able to pick up and move the entire thing myself! It’s aluminum powder coated so light and durable are my 2 favorite things.

Before

Alright, before I show you how the whole space came together we have to go back to the before! Very sad looking and like winter definitely go the best of this patio space.

After

Straight out of Home Depot’s decor catalog…am I right? Maybe that’s a bit much. But wow! It’s amazing what some outdoor furniture can do for a space!

Can we talk about the Lakeview Aluminum Outdoor Sectional Set with Charcoal Gray Cushions ?! There are so many great point to this sectional set that I absolutely loved. The sectional itself comes in 3 pieces, 2 long pieces and a corner! You actually don’t have to style it like a sectional you could essentially split into two love seats and a lounge chair. How cool is that? It also comes with a coffee table and there are end tables attached to the sofa too. I could go on and on about this sectional! Be sure to peep my instagram stories to see these babies live in action too.

The Dunham Gunmetal Beverage Tub is such a great take for a drink holder as opposed to the traditional galvanized drink container. The handle detail is great on these too!

I love adding natural elements to go with outdoor living spaces like pottery and wooden serving trays like this La Marsa 5-Piece Pita Regular Goblet Set and 33 in. Acacia Plank Serving Tray.

I love these 100% Melamine dishes homedepot.com/decor carries. They have this natural pottery look to them and they are perfect for year round outdoor and indoor use!

The detailing on these Haymont Stationary Steel Wicker Outdoor Patio Dining Chair with Beige Cushion had me the minute I clicked on them online! The detailing on the back of the chairs is absolutely beautiful, it’s like a take on macrame for chairs. They even come in a set of 2!

This Stamford Gray Round Wood Outdoor Dining Table with X Base table didn’t come with the Hampton Bay chairs, but it might as well have because it’s a perfect match! The chairs are metal and the table is a eucalyptus teak wood, but they mix really great together.
