Summer is here y’all and it was like day and night with the nice weather onto scorching hot summer days. With summer days here and lots more time spent outside a Summer Patio Refresh is right around the corner! We’ve got so many plans for our backyard this year and last year we really buckled down and made a design plan. Making a design plan in phases was the most cost effective for us. First phase was creating a space to actually sit! I know, that sounds crazy. But we had nowhere to sit and actually enjoy the space. Phase 2 is a big phase! But for now we’re doing, phase 1 1/2 I guess you could say?
Summer Patio Refresh Design
With every project we do, my design style seems to become more consistent. Meaning, I’m finding my “design voice” is how I’d describe it. I love timeless pieces, texture, warmth, and lots of different textiles.

Can you say grown up? Even at my late 20’s doing “grown up” things calls for an applause. Including my taste in design getting better!
Summer Patio Refresh Inspiration
There are so many beautiful patio spaces that I took into consideration when designing a mood board for this space. I’m sharing all the design Inso for our patio space below! you’ll see so many similarities to these spaces with warmth, woods and lots of texture.
Chris Loves Julia x Studio McGee is about the best thing to happen to the design world since sliced cheese. Am I right? I’ve loved this space since I first laid eyes on it. It has a coastal feel while still feeling like I’m 8 hours away from the beach, lol.
These chairs and that herringbone brick work just make my heart go pitter patter. The natural textures with subtle brick pattern just go together quite effortless!
Effortless and casual, can I just casually and effortlessly throw pillows around my yard and it turn out like this? I mean, maybe if I rope my toddler into helping she might do a good job!
Plants in baskets, baskets and plants. Texture and plants. Literally the two things I love together as one on my patio. YES PLEASE!
