If you’ve noticed we haven’t made much progress with our gender neutral nursery for baby #2. Not because we don’t want to, but we accidentally had 3 projects all collide into each other and deadlines rearranged so here we are at Week 2 with absolutely not much to show!

If you want to go back and catch up on some of the previous updates on the gender neutral nursery remodel – here are the links.

Week 1

Gender Neutral Nursery Progress

So far we have combed through a lot of the stuff in the guest bedroom and sorted it into boxes – goodwill or sell. As Cody likes to put it “why did we buy this” or “waste of money.” Hopefully we’ll be able to actually take all of those Goodwill boxes to goodwill and not let them sit in the garage like we did with the last ones for 3 months!

We almost have everything in for the nursery too! Just waiting on a few more items and then everything will be here…and then in a couple of weeks the baby will be here too. HOLY COW. It still hasn’t hit me yet that we’re having another baby and that I am completely crazy.

We decided to put my master closet remodel on the back burner while we finish up the nursery. It was supposed to be my last big project before baby #2 came, but things are always changing around here. Especially since I was planning on finishing the closet in September. So you can only imagine what our master bedroom looks like right now!

Gender Neutral Nursery Design

I’ve been going back and forth on how I want the layout to go in the second nursery. For Liv’s nursery it was pretty simple since there was really only one way to set it up. For the second nursery it’s a bit more complicated. However, the rooms are the same exact size! The second nursery feels so much smaller and it’s definitely the way the windows are arranged. So here’s one of the more favorable layouts we’ve been toying around with for the nursery.

The closest door is the entry and the far right door is the entrance into the jack and Jill bathroom. The blank wall space on the left in front of the crib are French doors to the closet. Since we are putting another barn door in this room going into the bathroom that also lifts where we are able to arrange the furniture.

Gender Neutral Nursery Remodel – To Do List:

  • Remove everything from guest bedroom (nursery #2)
  • Take goodwill donations to goodwill
  • Remove old barn door and old curtains
  • Touch up paint and holes

There’s not a ton of progress to share with the gender neutral nursery remodel, but a few behind the scenes!

I have to give a huge shoutout to Modern Nursery who is sponsoring this project! I wouldn’t be able to do it without them.

Check back next week for more updates on where we’re at and don’t forget to head over to the One Room Challenge website to see all the other participants!
